The Alexandra Arms

Mike Miller: (18/01/00) A quiet backstreet pub with lots of photographs around the walls. Greene King, so the usual beers (including the mild). Most barstaff friendly but the landlady rather scares me (she once thought I was foreign for some inexplicable reason). They never had any cask ales, but apparently have just started to do so. Small TV, darts board. Still, just go to the nearby Cambridge Blue instead (unless you smoke!).

Old reviews...

Richard Kastein: A chance discovery, this pub holds fond memories of Whisky. No, I'm talking about the pub dog not the drink! Bigger but quieter than the nearby Cambridge Blue, it has a juke-box and a pool table in a separate room - there is also another section down a couple of stairs. Could be draughty in one corner. Had a friendly locals feel. Too brightly lit in my opinion and we were put off going there originally by the frosted-up windows.

Rating : 5

Andrew Hollingsworth: Look out for the little dog called 'Whiskey' which likes to be tickled (though I refrained). Other attractions include authentic Cambridge locals.
